Terms and Conditions

GRANDVIEW TRAVEL* TERMS & CONDITIONS

By booking your arrangement with us, you are agreeing to be bound by the terms of this agreement and any additional terms and conditions of any supplier that are applicable to your booking arrangements. The lead passenger assumes the responsibility of sharing these terms and conditions with each passenger in their group, including payment of all amounts when due. It is the responsibility of each passenger to read our terms and conditions in its entirety. In addition, we reserve the right to modify these Terms and Conditions.  If there is any part of these terms and conditions that you do not agree with, please do not use our travel services.

Planning any vacation takes extensive time and effort before the departure date ever arrives. We have a rate structure to assist with the time spent covering the initial consultation, research and proposal. We will advise you of our fee for your journey. Our consulting fee will be charged at the time of proposal delivery, regardless of whether a client books a trip with us. When a client books a trip with us, this fee also goes toward travel support and the booking of the trip itself. The consulting fees are nonrefundable. We may also collect a commission from the supplier of your trip.

I understand that Grandview Travel is not the source or supplier of the travel services I have requested, and acts solely as an agent for the actual suppliers of such services. I have been advised that the suppliers whose names appear in the information supplied to me are those who are actually responsible for providing the travel services I have purchased. I consent to and request the use of those suppliers and agree not to hold Grandview Travel responsible should any of these suppliers: 1) fail to provide the travel services I have purchased; 2) fail to comply with any applicable law; or 3) engage in any negligent act or omission that causes me any sort of injury, damage, delay or inconvenience.

The quoted price for your vacation is derived from multiple components which have been negotiated as a whole to provide you with the best value.  This means we are unable to provide the cost for each individual item of your itinerary.  Indeed, we are bound by a confidential contract with hotels not to give itemized breakdowns of room prices, tours, transfers, etc.  We can always keep tweaking the itinerary and content until you are satisfied.

I accept that Grandview Travel is not responsible for, nor will I attempt to hold it liable for, any injury, damage or loss I may suffer on account of any conditions, actions or omissions.

I will review my travel documents for accuracy upon receipt and understand that I may contact Grandview Travel if I have any questions. I understand that discounted fares typically involve restrictions and that voluntarily changing any aspect of my travel arrangements may result in the payment of additional money and penalties.  Grandview travel is not responsible for any changes due to the client not checking their travel documentation for accuracy.

I understand that travel suppliers and cruise lines, in which my trip has been reserved through Grandview Travel, have specific payment deadlines for deposit and final payments.  If these payments are not paid on the date due, I understand that my reservation can be cancelled.  I do understand that there are travel advisories to not travel to certain regions of the world, due to unrest, or other restrictions.  However, those instances are not written into the policy and may not be covered.  Cancellations due to those circumstances will be handled on a case by case basis.

I understand that I have provided a credit card for the deposit payment on my vacation. While we do accept major credit cards including Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover, customers must provide us a signed charge authorization agreement for every transaction for your trip. Your authorization is a binding agreement for us to charge your card, and as such, you waive any right to a chargeback in the case of cancellation for any cause (excepting fraud), including a force majeure event, as defined herein, and agree to refund policies and procedures as outlined in these terms and conditions. In the event a client attempts to chargeback, reverse or recollect a trip payment already made without our authorization, we reserve the right to collect all additional costs, fees and expenses associated with such chargeback, reversal or recollection, including, without limitation, attorney fees. I further understand that my credit card will be automatically charged for the final payment on the date it is due.  If I wish to make the final payment with a different credit card or through other means, it is my responsibility to notify Grandview Travel.  I have been advised to use a credit card as this may offer me the opportunity to dispute future claims and payments for services not rendered to my satisfaction.

“Force majeure” means, in relation to our agency, in any circumstances beyond our reasonable control, (including, but without limitation, to acts of God, explosion, flood, forceful wind, fire or accident, war or threat of war declared or undeclared, acts of terrorism, sabotage, insurrection, riots, strikes, civil disturbance, sickness, epidemics, pandemics, quarantines, government intervention, weather conditions, defects in machinery and vehicles, delays or other unforeseeable event), we shall not be deemed to be in breach of these terms and conditions or otherwise be liable to you, and shall not provide any refund, by reason of delay in performance, or by non-performance, of any of our obligations hereunder to the extent that any such delay or non-performance is due to any force majeure. If our agency, and/or any of our travel suppliers, are affected by force majeure, they shall be entitled to, and may in their sole and absolute discretion, vary or cancel any itinerary or arrangement in relation to your trip.

I understand that the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) requires me to carry a government issued identification (driver’s license or passport) in order to board a flight. I have been advised that the name, date of birth, and gender that appears on the identification must exactly match the same such data that is listed on my airline ticket and in my booking records. I acknowledge that my failure to strictly comply with these requirements may result in denied boarding or an undue delay at an airport security checkpoint causing me to miss my flight.

I understand that if traveling by air within the continental United States, Alaska, Hawaii,  U.S. Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico, that I must have the new Ohio “Compliant” DL-ID license.  This license will have a “Star” in the upper right-hand corner which signifies that it can be used as an ID for air travel.  I understand that if I opt not to get the new compliant card and select the “Standard” license, that I will be required to have a passport for flights within the continental U.S., Alaska, Hawaii, U.S. Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico.

I understand that if traveling internationally, I must have a valid passport and depending upon my destination and nationality, I may need to obtain one or more visas.  Passports must valid for an additional six months on the day of return to the U.S.  I am responsible for making sure that my passport is valid prior to making any travel arrangements.

I understand that I may purchase travel insurance to cover certain risks inherent in travel such as supplier bankruptcy and the inability to travel due to a medical or personal emergency. Travel Insurance allows cancellation for specific covered reasons.  I understand that if I do not purchase travel insurance, I may not be entitled to any refunds for my trip.
